Während die meisten Pianisten eine klassische Ausbildung haben oder aus dem Jazz kommen, liegen meine Wurzeln in der Rockmusik. Ich habe früher als Keyboarder in diversen Rockbands gespielt und dort auch Songs komponiert. Seit ca. 10 Jahren spiele ich fast ausschließlich Solo Piano und meine Kompositionen haben sich in Richtung Filmmusik und Klassik entwickelt, so dass heute auch zunehmend älteres Publikum Interesse an meiner Musik findet.

While most pianists, have an classical education, or come from the jazz scene my roots are in the rock music. I played as a Keyboarder in various rock bands for which I also composed songs. Since nearly 10 years, I mostly play solo piano and my compositions have also developed in the direction of soundtrack and classic so that today more older audience take an interest in my music.

Für die, die es interessiert - hier meine kurze Künstlerbiographie:

Mein erstes Instrument (ein Akkordeon) bekam ich schon als kleines Kind - hatte aber keinen richtigen Bezug dazu. Erst mit 16 Jahren entdeckte ich meine Leidenschaft für die Musik. Mit einer Schülerband hat alles angefangen - damals spielte ich noch Keyboard und konnte noch nicht mal einen Akkord auf dem Instrument spielen . Als Autodidakt habe ich mir alles selbst beigebracht und fing irgendwann an, in diversen Bands, bei denen ich zu Anfang nur mitgespielt hatte, auch Songs zu komponieren. Bis zu meinem Grafik-Design Studium (1988-1991) war die Musik die Hauptsache in meinem Leben. Das änderte sich aber langsam mit dem Einstieg in meinen Beruf als Grafik Designer, so dass ich irgendwann meine ganze Kreativität als Art Director in diversen Werbeagenturen auszuleben versuchte (erst 12 Jahre später erkannte ich, dass das absolut der falsche Weg für mich war). Das Komponieren und Spielen auf dem E-Piano war mittlerweile nur noch zum gelegentlichen Frustspiel ausgeartet – oder war nur noch dann möglich, wenn ich wegen „burning out“ in meinem Job krank wurde und gezwungen war, eine Auszeit zu nehmen. Während dieser Zeit hatte mich unter anderem ein Kuraufenthalt in Davos dazu angeregt, meine selbstkomponierte Klaviermusik auch vor Publikum vorzutragen. Später gaben mir viele den Rat, das Klavierspiel auch professionell zu betreiben, doch hatte ich damals nicht den Mut dazu. Bedingt durch schwierige Zeiten in der Werbebranche und die Erkenntnis, dass die Werbung nicht meine wahre Berufung ist, haben mich letztendlich zu dem heutigen Schritt bewegt:

For those who are interested - here my short artist's biography:

I got my first instrument (accordion) already as a small child – but I had no right relation to it. Much later (with 16 years) I discovered my passion for the music. Everything started with a school band - at that time I still played keyboard and was not able to play a chord on the instrument. As an autodidact I learned playing keyboard by myself and later I composed songs for the bands which I played. Up to my graphic design study (in 1988-1991) the music was most the most important thing in my life. However, this slowly changed when I started my job as a graphic artist so that I tried to realise my whole creativity as an Art Director in various advertising agencies (only 12 years later I recognised that this was absolutely the wrong way for me). Meanwhile my composing and playing on the E piano had degenerated only to an occasional frustration play – or was possible only when I became ill because of „burning out“ in my job. During this time, a health resort stay in Davos had inspired me to play my selfcomposed piano music also before audience. Later many people gave me the advice to pursue the piano play also professionally, but I did’nt have the courage to do it. Hard times in the advertising industry and the awereness that advertising is not my true appeal, have moved me at last to my today's step:

To take more time for the real thing and beauty in my life...
